Sphinx 60s Ashtray

About Royal Maastricht…

Founded in 1834 in the Dutch city of Maastricht, it was a glass manufacture before it started producing pottery and porcelain. The sphinx became its insignia in 1879, and in 1960 the “Royal” part was added to its name by royal decree. The house was acquired by a Finnish company in 2010, and its pieces – the classic ones inspired by French and British porcelain and the more modern ones bordering on kitsch- are now collectors’ items.
